Vortex Volleyball Club Season Tryouts 2021

Cost is $15 if you pre-register online by September 29th, $20 day of or at the door.

Age 12 under Sept 30th  @ 6 pm - 7 pm

13s Sept 30th  @ 7 pm - 8 pm

14s Sept 30th @ 8 pm - 9:30 pm

*ATTENTION 13s! We will be asking you upon arrival to tryouts if you are interested in a position on a power team. We are putting together a HIGH PERFORMANCE TEAM with our coach, Art McCarty. The season length will be the same as a regular club season. More details at tryouts.

15s Oct. 1st  @ 5:30 pm - 7 pm

16s Oct. 1st   @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm  (court 1 & 2)

17s-18s  Oct. 1st   @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm (court 3)


Be 15 minutes early to your age group tryout time.

Club Season Details

Mid-November to April

$1400

Includes Tournament Fees, Jerseys, team building activities, and Vortex Swag. 

1.5 hour court time plus 30 mins training 2x a week, 5 one day tournaments and one 2 day tournament. Some 15s, 16s, 17s teams may be invited to one more tournament in Mesquite.

All clinics, tryouts and season practices will be held at F5 Athletics: 1078 W. 350 S. Suite B, Syracuse, UT 84075 

Referral Program 

Please invite friends to participate in tryouts!  Any previous Vortex athlete will receive a $40 referral discount for every athlete they refer who makes a team. 

Example: Sara played for Vortex last year. This year she has brought 3 of her friends with her to tryouts. They each make the team. A $120 credit will be added to Sara's account. The referred athletes will not receive a discount the first year but will be eligible the next year to refer their friends for a discount.

A deposit of $350 is due upon registration. This fee will enable the club to register my child to play for club events, insurance, and uniforms.

The additional amount can be split into 4 payments of $262.50 and are due November 1, December 1, and January 1, February 1

All payments are set up on an automatic withdrawal upon registration. Parent is responsible to keep payment card information up to date.


FUNDRAISERS


We conduct 2 fundraisers per season to assist in dues and/or to help cover tournaments above and beyond what is scheduled.

  1. Serve-A-Thon: by collecting pledges from neighbors and family/friends of any amount per serve your athlete can collect quite a chunk of change! Ex: Will asks a neighbor to pledge .10 and another neighbor pledges .25 per serve she can serve over the net and in, out of 100. On the day of the Serve-A-Thon he serves over 80 out of 100. His one neighbor would then give him $8 and the other would do $20. Some of our girl athletes have been able to make upwards of $800 in the past! *details to come!

  2. Sponsorship: Each athlete is welcome to find a sponsor. Sponsorships are any amount and all $ goes directly toward the athletes dues. The company sponsoring will get their logo listed on our website as a sponsor. https://vortexvolleyballutah.leagueapps.com/store

10 & Under

Must be born on or after July 1, 2011 --------------- Cannot turn 11 before July 1, 2022

11 & Under

Must be born on or after July 1, 2010 --------------- Cannot turn 12 before July 1, 2022

12 & Under

Must be born on or after July 1, 2009 --------------- Cannot turn 13 before July 1, 2022

13 & Under

Must be born on or after July 1, 2008 --------------- Cannot turn 14 before July 1, 2022

14 & Under

Must be born on or after July 1, 2007 --------------- Cannot turn 15 before July 1, 2022

15 & Under

Must be born on or after July 1, 2006 --------------- Cannot turn 16 before July 1, 2022

16 & Under

Must be born on or after July 1, 2005 --------------- Cannot turn 17 before July 1, 2022

17 & Under

Must be born on or after July 1, 2004 OR born on or after July 1, 2003 AND are in the 11th grade during the current academic year.

18 & Under

Must be born on or after July 1, 2003 OR born on or after July 1, 2002 AND be a high school student (12th grade or below) during some part of the current academic year.
