Covid Policy

VORTEX COVID POLICY  

Spectators: Only one spectator allowed per athlete. Gate fee is $5 per spectator. All spectators must wear a mask at all times. If you do not have one we will have one for purchase in our concessions. Upon check in we require a temperature check and hand sanitizer. 

All teams must provide a list of attendees prior to tournament date. You can email your team list to vortexvolleyballutah@gmail.com. Please, check in at arrival and check out when leaving. Bleachers will be sectioned off by Team. Spectators must sit in their team section. *If you are high risk please do not attend our sporting event.

Teams : Athletes will be given a corner of the gym for their team to sit and keep their items. We ask that teams stay in their assigned area for eating and waiting to play.  

Precautions: To help keep everyone as safe as possible and follow government guidelines we will be doing several things to allow us to continue to host volleyball events.

These precautions include; staticelectric spraying before every tournament, sanitizing high touch surfaces every hour, limiting number of participants and spectators, taking temperatures and requiring hand sanitizing before entry, requesting hand sanitizing throughout the day, assigning team areas, requiring masks for all except for athletes while playing.  

  • Each child must NOT have a fever (99.5 degrees or above), cough, or other symptoms of COVID 19. If your child feels even a little ill please keep them home. Upon entering the building each athlete will be required to wear a max, and given hand sanitizer and have their temperature checked.
  • Please bring your own water bottles, the drinking fountains will be unavailable except to refill bottles. 
  • All door handles and bathroom stall doors will be sanitized throughout the event. All balls and other necessary equipment will be sanitized before and after each match.  

All club and premier level games will begin at 9:00am. Coach/Ref meeting will be held at 8:30am. Please be sure to attend meeting as regulations change frequently according to government Covid regulations, etc. 

You can find the tournament schedule on utahclubvolleyball.com and additionally on vortexvolleyballutah.org. Results will also be posted on both websites. 

Medals will be rewarded to the teams who win gold and silver in the gold bracket. 

All 12U teams will be allowed to step 4 ft into the court to start their serve. Upon making a serve in, the athlete will be asked to take a step back for each successful serve, until behind the end line. Coaches and ref will be asked to monitor this per athlete. Thanks. 

BOYS playing on girls teams must submit a gender waiver. No more than 2 boys will be permitted to be on the court at the same time. 

SHUT DOWN POLICY: If a TEAM cancels prior to the 4 weeks before deadline of the event, that team will receive a full 100% refund. If a TEAM cancels within the 4 weeks before an event, that team will only receive a refund IF it is due to Covid AND we can find a replacement team to take your spot. If the TOURNAMENT gets canceled completely then ALL registered teams will receive a 90% refund.
